Tweetbot, mein liebster Twitter Client am iPad hat gestern ein neues Update bekommen. Die nun aktuelle Version ist 2.3 und diese bringt einige sehr gute Neuerungen mit sich.
Mit dabei ist nun also z.B. eine überarbeitete Konversationsansicht für Tweets, die auch darauffolgende Antworten auf den Tweet zeigt. Die Konversations- und Detailansicht kann man jetzt auch per Swipe Geste von rechts nach links verlassen um so wieder auf die Timeline zu kommen. Das inzwischen schon berüchtigte Bookmark-Icon, das zeigt, wo man in der Timeline zuletzt stehen geblieben ist, ist seit dem Update ein optionales und standardmäßig deaktiviert, da dieses Fähnchen wohl viele User irritiert hat (wer bitte schön lässt sich durch sowas irritieren?).

Das sind natürlich nicht alle Neuerungen. Nennenswert sind noch die neue Droplr Unterstützung und die bessere Unterscheidung von Foto- und Video-Thumbnails durch ein Play-Icon bei Letzteren. Den kompletten Changelog zitiere ich mal hier:
- New tweet detail view with inline conversations and replies (swipe right to left on a tweet for quick access)
- New gesture in tweet detail to get back to the timeline quickly (swipe left to right)
- New conversation view now contains both the conversation and replies (swipe left to right on a tweet for quick access)
- Ability to email conversations or post a link to them via Storify when in the conversation view
- Droplr Support
- Video thumbnails now have a “play” icon to differentiate it from image thumbnails
- Timeline sync bookmark icon is now an optional setting
- Reorganized tweet drawer (last two buttons have gone through some options reorganization)
- Added thumbnail support for Vimeo links
- Higher res image uploads when on wifi
- Hold down compose tweet button to quickly open last draft
- Support for $stock links
- Improved email format when sending tweets, DMs, or conversations as email
- Arabic Localization
Durch die Neuerungen wird Tweetbot als sowieso schon konkurrenzlos guter Client, noch einmal besser. Neue Bugs habe ich bisher noch nicht feststellen können – Version 2.3 scheint also ein durchweg reibungsloses gewesen zu sein. Nicht so, wie das Update auf 2.1, nachdem ein Teil der Bedienoberfläche auf japanisch war. So muss ein Update sein und Tapbots haben hier gute Arbeit abgeliefert.
